For the third time in month, a person was attacked in the Lake Phalen area of St. Paul. This time, it was a 23 year old woman jogger, according a story on KARE-11 TV.
It’s sad that some person or persons are intent on targeting people in this area and making them feel vulnerable. Most of these cases have not involved robbery attempts, just criminal assault. I don’t know whether these criminals are frustrated about the economy and have turned to taking their frustrations out on innocent victims, but I do know that is has to stop!
I would love to see one of these criminals run into someone carrying pepper spray or a Taser and getting a taste of their own medicine.

I just saw this story on the local news tonight about a man who had stolen a car. This thief was so proud of himself that he actually called 911 and reported that he had stolen a car and, since he was much smarter than the police, they would never catch him!
Well, he was wrong. The police arrived at his residence the next day and arrested him. You see, the police have this new fangled device called “caller ID”. It lets them see exactly who is calling them and provides the callers phone number, etc. This feature is very useful for determining who called them in case the caller gets disconnected at some point during the phone call. People that need help, or are reporting to authorities that someone else needs help, can get disconnected for various reasons like passing out, trying to escape a dangerous situation like a criminal chasing them, etc.
It turns out that caller ID also comes in real handy when the authorites are trying to locate a REALLY STUPID CRIMINAL!
Maybe it’s just me, but it sure seems like there is a lot more crime these days. I think that when times get tough, Americans naturally do whatever they can to survive. Most of us with an education and some work experience have options regarding what type of work we will accept even in the current dismal state of the economy.
If you’re young and stupid, you probably don’t have many (or any) sources of income to turn to. Unfortunetly, it seems like there are more people turning to crime these days as a way to support themselves. The crime industry is an equal idiot employment opportunity. There are no resumes needed, no job interviews to go on, no sending your resume off into some black box and just praying that SOMEONE will eventually invite you to meet for an interview.
Can you imagine some armed robber holding up a gas station and the clerk behind the window asking the robber “Is this your first robbery attempt? Because you act like you don’t have much experience at this sort of thing. How many robbery’s have you successfully pulled off in the past? Have you actually ever shot a person? I’m sorry, but I really don’t think you’re qualified to pull off this robbery. I think it’s best if you just leave because we would like to pursue some other, more qualifed robbers. If you will just leave a business card, we’ll add your information to our database of other criminals and follow up with you if we have a need for your services within the next 12 months.”

I just registered my new TASER C2 with TASER International and was thinking I made a pretty good investment in the safety of myself and my family. Let me explain how valuable this device is, in case you’re not familiar the TASER C2.

The TASER C2 is a self-defense electronic control device Manufactured by TASER International, the same company that manufactures TASERs used by Law Enforcement personnel all over the world. The TASER C2 is just as effective as the TASER used by Law Enforcement, plus it has some smart additional features which make it perfect for any ordinary citizen to use.
The TASER C2 uses a replaceable cartridge containing compressed nitrogen to deploy to the small probes that are attached to the TASER C2 by insulated conductive wires with a maximum length of 15 feet. The TASER C2 transmits electrical pulses along the wires and into the body of affecting the sensory and motor functions of the peripheral nervous system. The energy can penetrate up to 2 inches of clothing, or 1 inch per probe.
How does a TASER work?
The human nervous system communicates with simple electrical impulses. The command center (brain and spinal cord) processes information and makes decisions. The peripheral nervous system includes the sensory and motor nerves. The sensory nerves carry information from the body to the brain (temperature, touch, etc.) the motor nerves carry commands from the brain to the muscles to control movement and can be involuntary in response to the sensory information. An example would be involuntary muscle reaction to pull the hand away from a hot object.
TASER technology uses similar electrical pulses to costs stimulation that affects the century and motor nerves. No muscular incapacitation (NMI) occurs when a device is able to cause involuntary stimulation of both the sensory nerves and the motor nerves. It is not dependent on pain and is effective on subjects with a high level of pain tolerance.
Previous generations of stun guns could primarily affect the Senator nerves only, resulting in pain compliance. A person with a very high tolerance pain (e.g., a drug abuser or a trained, focused fighter) might be able to fight through the pain of a traditional stun gun.
Electricity must be able to flow between the probes of the electrodes.
Electricity generally follows the path of least resistance between the probes. The greater the spread between the probes on the target, generally the greater the NMI effectiveness.
Electricity will generally not pass to others in contact with the subject unless contact is made directly between or on the probes.
Electricity can arc through clothing.
Exposure to water will not cause electrocution to increase the power to the subject (electrical charge is fixed inside the TASER device, and will not increase significantly even with environmental changes).
TASER technology uses similar electrical pulses to cause stimulation that affects the sensory and motor nerves. Neromuscular Incapacitation (NMI) occurs when a device is able to cause an involuntary stimulation of both the sensory nerves and the motor nerves. It is not dependent on pain and is effective on subjects of the high level of pain tolerance.
SPECIAL FEATURES TO PREVENT MISUSE
Every time a TASER C2 cartridge is deployed, at least 24 small, confetti -like AFID tags are ejected. Each AFID is printed with the serial number of the cartridge deployed, allowing law enforcement agencies to determine the registered owner of the cartridge and track citizen use if ever used in a criminal act.
You are required to complete a criminal background check in order to receive a unique code that will be used to activate your TASER C2. This means that when a TASER C2 has been fired, it will be much easier for the police to track down the registered owner of the device.
The TASER C2, with laser guided targeting, costs $350. It costs another $10 to register your unit with TASER. This is a one-time fee.
The TASER C2 is certainly not the cheapest self defense device available, but I feel this is the most effective, non-lethal self defense device currently on the market and well worth the investment in the safety of myself and my family.

Another week, another disappointing stock market. But, cheer up! I think some long overdue change is on it’s way. And remember, there’s more to life than just money. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, “This too, shall pass.”
We don’t have to look too far to see the signs of outrageous greed that ran rampant during the last stock market bull cycle. Here are just some of the highlights from the last week of media reports that exhibit the excessive greediness of corporate executives:
-
Speaking of General Motors, GM and Chrysler told the U.S. Congress that they could need $21.6 billion more in aid to keep them going. GM said it could need $100 billion in financing if it filed for bankruptcy, and CEO Rick Wagner said bankruptcy would be “risky” and would only be used as a last resort. I wonder what Wagner really means when he says that a GM bankruptcy would be “risky”? Risky for him, personally, and his future salary and earnings prospect perhaps?
But, as Bob Dylan would say, “The times, they are a changing.” Yes, the Federal Goverment is throwing an awful lot of money at our financial markets to try and stop the decline in our financial markets and restore some resembelance of confidence again. As inflationary as the long-term effects of this loose money policy will be, they really don’t have a choice if they have any hope of preventing the global economy from falling into a long, deep and severe depression.
Critics of President Obama’s new housing rescue plan say they don’t want to pay for their neighbor’s mortgage in the form of higher taxes. Well, I don’t think anyone is happy about paying higher taxes, but what choice do we really have? The economy is messed up, big time. We can’t blame President Obama for this because things were already messed up by the time he was elected into office. He could complain about the crappy job that he inherited from the outgoing administration, but he’s not. He’s doing everything that he can to try and stop the bleeding and prevent any further damage from occuring.
Now, to get back to the headline of this long-winded blog post, It was clear from the November 2008 U.S. Presidential results that Americans wanted change. Not just a little tweak, but a major change. Well, change IS coming. It has to, or else we are all dead. Not just the US economy, but the global economy. How can you imagine that a person as insane as Adolph Hitler became so powerful? Germany was weak from the last major recession and people were starving and desperate for change. These people were so desperate that they decided that while Hitler had some radical ideas, nothing else had worked so far. They HAD to DO SOMETHING! So they put this guy named Hitler with some crazy ideas into power to see if that might fix things. And the rest is history, as they say.
Please don’t misunderstand and think that I’m comparing President Obama to Adolph Hitler, because that is NOT WHAT I’M DOING. American’s are smart enough to learn from the past mistakes of others and I think Obama is exactly what America needs right now to get us out of this financial mess without creating more problems down the road.
Just to be safe, you might want to pick up a C2 TASER in case their’s an uprising in your neigborhood…

A Taser is simply a less lethal alternative to a hand gun. Afterall, you just want to stop your neighbor from attacking you and stealing your stuff. You don’t want to actually KILL HIM, right?

When you think of self defense products you typically think about pepper spray, stun guns or personal security alarms. However, there is another effective form of self defense that is not usually considered and that is a safety light.
How Safety Lights May Help
Safety lights are designed to light up the way when you are out walking on a dark night. Not only do they help you to see better, but they also enable you to draw attention to yourself. This may seem like a bad idea; after all, who wants to draw attention to themselves at night when there are potential attackers out there? Surely the attacker will see you and find it easier to attack you? Well surprisingly drawing attention to yourself does not increase the risk of you being attacked, instead it prevents it.
By drawing attention to yourself with a safety light it enables other people to see you. So if you are attacked there is a better chance that somebody will witness what is happening. Help can then be called and your attacker will be scared off. So that is one way in which a safety light can protect you.
By lighting up the way a safety light will also help you to see potential attackers. Often when you are walking late at night it is difficult to see what is in front of you. That is why so many people are attacked because their attacker can see them, but they did not see their attacker until it was too late. By seeing where you are going you will be able to assess the possible risks ahead and that can potentially stop you from being attacked.
Choosing a Good Safety Light
There are different lights that you can purchase but typically the best types to get are the LED versions. You can also choose between flashing lights and simple constant lights. If you use a flashing light that does help to draw attention to you when you are being attacked. A constant light is better to help you to see where you are going. For best results it would be a good idea to purchase a LED light that has the ability to flash but which also has a constant light on it too.
If you want a light which is convenient to carry then you should choose the Cell Phone flash light. This is designed to peel and stick to your cell phone and it can easily be operated whenever it is needed. It lasts for up to 6,000 hours and you can use it literally everywhere. It is small enough to easily carry around and use outside and generally it is one of the best lights available.
If you just want the simplest of safety lights then the LED light is what you need. It comes with seven different flashing patterns and you can choose from three different styles. There is a wrist strap, a bicycle light and a belt clip. It has a very powerful light and the seven different flashing functions will help you to signal help if it is needed.
Overall safety lights may not be able to directly stop an attack, but they can help to prevent them. It would be a good idea to carry around another self defense product such as pepper spray if you really want to protect yourself, or even just a personal safety alarm to further draw attention to yourself in the event of an attack. You can even purchase combined safety alarms and lights and that may be the best option for you.

If you’re anything like me, you get a slight sense of fear when you see a medium or larger sized dog approaching you with no owner in sight. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge dog fan. In fact, my English Springer Spaniel named Wrigley is lying at my feet as I write this.
The problem with encountering a dog that you don’t know, however, is that you never know how the dog is going to react to you. Does the dog sense that you are a threat to him? Or does the dog see you as a friendly face and want you to pet him or scratch him behind his ears? You won’t really know the answer to these questions until the dog reacts…and then it’s probably too late to do anything to protect yourself…unless you’re already prepared for a dog encounter.

www.laneselfdefense.com/dogrepellent.htm
The item shown above is special formulation of pepper spray that is specifically for use on dogs. This is a slightly weaker strength of pepper spray than what is used by police to control riots and by private citizens wanting to protect themselves. One quick, one-second shot of this Muzzle Dog Repellent in the face of an angry, attacking dog will stop the dog in his tracks…but won’t cause any permanent damage to the animal. Perhaps you think this is cruel to the animal, but all you are doing is defending yourself from a potentially violent and lethal attack.
If you have ever worked with hot jalapeno or some other type of hot pepper and then accidentally rubbed your eyes, then you know somewhat what the sting of pepper spray feels like. Should a dog get a burst of this Muzzle Pepper Spray in his face, he will be too busy rolling around in the grass trying to get this irritant out of his eyes to bother you. This should give you enough time to get out of harm’s way.
Another device that is helpful in preventing dog attacks is this electronic dog chaser, which is shown here:

www.laneselfdefense.com/dogchaser.htm
The Dog Chaser device emits a high frequency sound (similar to a dog whistle) that is extremely disturbing to a dog. Human’s can’t hear sound frequencies at this pitch, but the dog sure can…and the dog HATES this sound. A dog will do everything they can to get as far away as possible from this noise. You know the sound of someone scratching their fingernails across a blackboard? Well, to dogs, this sound is just like that…only 10 times worse. The Dog Chaser device also has 2 white, LED lights that create a “strobe light” effect in the dog’s face and is a back up measure to startle the dog and stop it in it’s tracks from attacking their victim.
These products are perfect for anyone who has a job that requires them to encounter dogs from time to time such as mail carriers, package delivery persons, meter readers, landscapers, gardeners, security guards and others.
These products are also great if you like to be outdoors and run, rollerblade or bike in a neighborhood that might have strange and/or aggressive dogs in the area. Remember, it’s always better to be safe than sorry!
Stay Safe,
Steve Lane

Public transportation is normally very safe and most taxi companies are reputable licensed firms and their drivers have been bonded. Background checks have been done on these driver/operators before they are hired. You should feel confident in taking a taxi or riding on a bus, train or tube, but you still have to gain enough confidence in yourself to feel safe.
Having additional tools for safety is not a hindrance, but an advantage, so you should equip yourself with pepper spray, stun gun, mace and other safe and legal ammunitions to protect yourself. You are only as safe as you feel and we are now living in a society that is filled with crime. Even in our school system, it is no longer safe. Children take guns to school. The other day, I heard about a ten year old; imagine a ten year old, taking an old grenade to school for show and tell. The children are possibly watching all the crime on television and in their innocence are taking up arms to protect themselves unconsciously.
Your prime focus is to protect yourself, your family and whatever belongs to you in a non-confrontational way that is backed by the law. It is legal to bear arms responsibly even if it only “lipstick peppers spray” or a “cell phone stun gun.” It is your right to protect yourself.
Here are some tips to make sure that you take public transportation safely:
• Use a bus stop you know is usually busy and well lit
• Know the departure and arrival times of the bus and try to let someone at the other end of the station know that you are taking the bus and which bus you are taking. They could always meet you at your stop
• Sit close to the driver. If someone starts up a conversation, be pleasant and confident, but don’t give away your personal information such as where you live or work.
If you are taking a train:
• Wait on a well lit section of the platform, close to the exit or where there are other people around. Many stations now have CCTV cameras and staff that are trained to deal with emergencies.
• When you get on the train, try to sit in a busy compartment and keep any bags and personal possessions you have next to you.
• If you feel uncomfortable, switch seats or even consider getting off the train and catching the next one. Only do this if the station where you are getting off is manned and busy.
• Know where your emergency button or cord is situated or any help points at the station.
If you are taking a taxi:
• Carry the phone number of a taxi or mini cab firm you know, and whenever you book a taxi ask them for the driver’s name and type of car they will be driving
• If you can, share a taxi with a friend and have your money ready and keys handy at the end of your journey so that you can enter your home quickly
• If ever you feel uneasy in a taxi, ask the driver to stop in a busy place that you know well and get out.
Be safe! For more information, go to http://www.laneselfdefense.com/lipstickpepperspray.htm

Ninety per cent of burglary prevention is physical security. If your complex is locked up and unauthorized entry is made difficult, time consuming, noisy and visible, chances of a successful burglary are kept to a minimum. The burglar will pass up your business and look for an easier target.
Prevention
Locks on all outside entrances and inside security doors should be double cylinder deadbolts with moveable collars. The deadbolt should have at least one inch throw containing a hardened steel insert and protected by a latch guard. Padlocks should be of hardened steel mounted on bolted hasps and always locked to prevent exchange. Serial numbers should be filed off to prevent new keys from being made. Doors should be of solid construction, metal lined and secured with heavy metal crossbars. Jams around doors must be solid. All exposed hinges should be pinned to prevent removal.
Windows should have secure locks or you can put in a window alarm. Burglar resistant glass treatmen
ts are also recommended. An example would be the installation of polyester security film. However, this must be used conjunction with the alarm’s glass break sensor. Heavy metal grates may be used on windows of high vulnerability such as rear windows. Check with the Fire Marshall for safety requirements.
Lights must provide optimum visibility, both inside and out, with those outside having vandal-proof covers over the lights and power source. Entire perimeter must be well lit, especially the area around doors and other possible entry points. Alarm system should be supplied by a licensed alarm company with a central monitoring station. Check the safety alarm system on a daily basis, and advertise its presence to deter break-ins.
Cash register should be kept in plain view from outside the building so it can be easily monitored and should be left open when empty and not in use. Safe should be fire proof, burglar resistant, anchored securely and in plain view. Leave it open when it is empty, and use it lock up valuables when business is closed. Change the combination whenever someone with access to it leaves your employment.
Building exterior should be checked including the roof, cellar and walls. Secure all openings. Maintain good visibility by not allowing landscaping boxes, trash bins, vehicles or equipment near building where they might provide concealment or access to the roof.
Perimeter fences need to be adequate enough to keep intruders out, and at the same time allow good visibility of your business by neighbors and police. Key control should be done in a responsible manner. A master key system where on key opens all locks may be convenient, but it may not be the best for security.
Code all keys, keep them locked up when not in use, and do not allow employees to leave them lying around or make duplicates. Change locks whenever you suspect key security has been jeopardized. ID numbers should be marked on all equipment and stickers should be displayed to make this plainly evident to would-be thieves. The best number to use is your personal driver’s license number. Also keeping a record of serial numbers on all equipment may help in recovery. To get more information about how you can protect yourself against possible crime, go to http://www.laneselfdefense.com/tripleaction.htm.

Parking lot crimes are prevalent and you don’t want to get caught without enough knowledge and information to protect yourself. You should always also be equipped with the right safety tools to protect yourself. Some of these safety tools are pepper sprays, stun guns, mace and self defense classes. It is very important to carry one or all of these safety tools.
Avoid underground or multi story car parks especially at night as they are breeding grounds for vandalism and crime. If they already exist, danger could be minimized by limiting entry points. If you live in a gated community, you are at an advantage and can park your car in front of your home.
Car parks should be no more than sixty meters from dwellings and the path should be well lit and free from shrubbery. Visitor’s car parks should be well lit, clearly defined and visible from dwellings. If it is desirable to limit access to dwellings, make sure access via car parks is monitored well. In high crime areas, advanced technological surveillance methods may be needed in car parks such as surveillance cameras, hidden wireless cameras and even alarms.
For example, an infrared unit can be made available, which detects the presence of intruders, but not cats and dogs, by body heat and automatically switches on all lights in the car park and turns them off after fifteen to twenty minutes.
Surveillance cameras are a great safety tools for businesses. Individuals who own parking garages need them to monitor and help the customers to feel safe leaving their vehicles and going back to their vehicles. Hidden wireless cameras may be more effective since the thieves or prowlers don’t know that it even exists.
Car parks that are enclosed are excellent candidates for this type of surveillance equipment and method. If there is a security guard at the gate, he or she will be able to monitor the parking garage more efficiently. It is in the best interest of the parking garage to take care of their patrons so many of them are getting the hint and providing many different types of safety measures.
Underground garages are the most susceptible to the occurrences of crime. This is where the surveillance equipment is well needed. Most underground garages do carry it, but you must pay attention or ask the security at the gate if there is a surveillance camera before you park your vehicle there.
You must be aware at all times of your environment because the thief is always watching you and trying to find ways to beat the system. There are robbers who don’t even care if there is a surveillance system or don’t take the time to look for one. They are so brazen these days that the least you can do is to carry a pepper spray, mace or stun gun to protect yourself. You cannot depend on the garage owner to solely provide your protection.
Be aware of your surroundings when you do park your vehicle in a garage. Never take it for granted that there are surveillance cameras around. Try not to use a parking garage at nights. Park your vehicle on the street if you can.

The world is becoming an unsafe place for both men and women around the world. Every day on the news you hear stories of women being attacked and robbed. However, in some cases, it gets more tragic because the thieves get desperate and may kill the person. Women especially are targets because the intruder feels that women are easy to rob and so they become more vulnerable. I think women are become sick and tired of being targets and are taking control of their own safety and protection.
Women are even going a step further by taking self defense classes to be prepared to defend themselves in the event that they come across any unsafe situations. Being equipped with personal security devices is also another way that women are safeguarding themselves from attackers and intruders.
Women have different types of personal security devices to choose from as a precaution. Pepper sprays, stun guns, maces, and other safety devices are some of the few we will mention here. Pepper Spray, I think, was the first one that became popular among women. It is easy to carry and is packaged in a compact and small aerosol can. It fits securely in a woman’s purse and on a key chain. These days they are even making pepper sprays in the form of a lipstick. The thief will not know what hit him or her because a woman can take out her lipstick without the attacker being suspicious.
When the Pepper Spray is held toward the attacker and pressed to directly affect the eyes, it will stop the attacker in his or her tracks and disable the attacker. The canine pepper spray emits ten one second bursts and this is for individuals who are attacked by dogs. The bear pepper spray was created for a bear attack. The pepper spray only causes short term pain and is not detrimental to the attacker in the long run. It is just a temporary tool to give the woman a chance to escape quickly. The woman should first learn to use this pepper spray and not wait until she is attacked to fumble with it.
Stun Guns are small devices that are hand held. It is used by many law enforcement officers. It emits soaring voltage electric shock when it is used on an individual for up to five seconds. Once the individual is shocked with this elevated voltage, he or she becomes disoriented and will fall. Stun Guns cannot cause long term harm. The person will recuperate in up to ten minutes. This gives the woman enough time to escape.
Cell Phone Stun Gun is one of the newest personal security devices on the market. It carries up to 800,000 voltages. Its unique feature gives the woman a tactical advantage. The intruder or attacker won’t know what hit them because the cell phone is not an obvious self defense tool. It is easy to surprise the attacker with a cell phone. The purpose for this device is to give the victim enough time to get away. It is not to intentionally harm since these tools are nonlethal weapons.
It also has an alarm and a flashlight installed as well as an anti-theft disabling wrist strap.
Women can rest assured that they can now stop being victims and protect themselves with personal security devices that work. For more information, please to go http://www.laneselfdefense.com/cellphonestungun.htm

It was the early morning hours and Samantha was coming from the club that she had enjoyed with her two girlfriends, Sherri and Lana. They had all driven in different cars and parked elsewhere. As Samantha walked to her car, she stopped shortly as she remembered the ritual that she had to go through each time she would walk to her car. She stopped under the street lights and pulled her keys and stun gun from her small purse.
She scolded herself because this should have been done before she vacated the club building. She looked around and saw people going by, but minding their own business. She hoped no one saw her. She was a little tired, but knew that she had to stay alert for any possible attackers. She had learned in her self defense class how important it was to remain alert of one’s surroundings. There were a few other people walking to their car, but from a distance. She observed her surroundings, which was another self defense tactic. Her stun gun was also one of the effective self defense tools that could save lives.
She had heard stories about stalkers and bad men who took advantage of women who walked alone and she had made sure to do all she could to protect herself and it paid off so far. She had encouraged both Sherri and Lana to do the same. She mentally prepared herself to call to make sure that they had gotten home safely. She hadn’t gotten the opportunity to use her stun gun, but she vowed to use it if confronted by a stalker or an intruder.
What is the stun gun and how can it be effectively used by a woman?
Stun guns are self defense weapons that woman can use to protect themselves against crime. It is a hand-held device that releases a voltage on the intruder and produces shock waves. Stun guns are not gender specific. However, many manufacturers are seeing the need for specialized stun guns for women are they are becoming quite popular. This is because of the increasing number of attacks that women experience more than men do. Stun guns have become the self defense tool of choice for a lot of women including pepper spray as well.

We have an English Springer Spaniel in our house that barks at anything that pulls in front of our house. You can just imagine the look on the face of our UPS delivery guy everytime he delivers a package. A couple of times our dog got out when we opened our front door and the UPS guy just dropped our package at the end of our driveway and ran back inside his truck. I certainly can’t blame him. Although our 11-year-old dog is quite harmless, he doesn’t know that. He has to assume that ANY dog is dangerous.
So, what do you do to protect yourself when your job puts you in harms way of a dog bite? My best advice is to carry canine mace pepper spray. This is a special formulation of the regular mace pepper spray that is used on people, but the canine mace spray is lower strength so it will still disable an attacking dog, but not cause any permanent damage to the dog.
It’s a good idea to carry a canine mace pepper spray anytime that you may encounter an attacking dog. Besides delivery people, meter readers, landscapers, handymen, and any other occupation that requires going into peoples homes to do the work, should all carry a canine strength mace pepper spray to protect themselves.
One of my longer bike routes takes me by a house out in the country where the people just let their dog run loose. Everytime I ride my bike by that house, the dog comes running out onto the street and chases after me. I can usually out run the dog if I pick out where it is ahead of time and keep my speed up, but if the dog is already out by the street after chasing after some other people before me, then I’m going to be in big trouble. From now on, I’m carrying a canister or two of canine mace pepper spray…just in case.

There has been many recent media reports, here in the Twin Cities, of dogs attacking people. It seems that usually the dogs involved are very aggressively trained attack dogs and limited to a specific breed such as a Doberman, St. Germain or Pit Bull. Some of these dogs are actually taught to attack humans by local drug dealers that use them to keep police and nosy neighbors away from their drug operations.
Must dogs don’t attack people and they have no reason to be aggressive toward humans. Other dogs have been abused or mistreated by people in the past and have a tendency to be more aggressive and more likely attack. Obviously, if a dog have been trained all of his/her life to attack humans, that behavior will likely continue even when the dog has been removed from that environment.
If your a postal carrier, utility worker, parcel delivery person, or have some other type of job that requires regular interface with the public at their homes, it would probably be a good idea to carry around a canine mace spray (http://www.laneselfdefense.com/dogrepellent.htm) or ultrasonic dog chaser device (http://www.laneselfdefense.com/dogchaser.htm) when you are on the job. You never know when you might run into an aggressive dog that tries to attack you and you had better be prepared for this encounter to occur. It sure seems like it’s happening a lot more often today than it has in the past.
