Kent Couch flew across the Oregon Desert and landed in Idaho. Apparently, Couch had not seen Danny Deck Chair but was inspired by watching a TV show about the 1982 deck chair flight over Los Angeles of truck driver Larry Walters, who gained folk hero fame but was fined $1500 for violating air traffic rules.
